Most people use cotton buds for the purpose of “removing” the ear wax from the ears. Our ears produce waste in the form of wax which obviously must be removed from the ears. Letting it stay in is unhygienic and also unsafe as it may cause various kinds of infections. However, did you know that your cotton buds cause more damage to your ears? Read ahead, to know why you must avoid using them.

The thin shape of the cotton buds is thin enough to push the entire wax back into the ear drums. The purpose of the wax is to attract the dirt to stick on it so that it does not enter the ear canals. So by using the cotton buds we are actually pushing a major part of it back into the ear whereas the purpose is to totally remove it from the ear.
So next time to clean your ears, try using a cloth instead of the thin ear buds.
