Women should stop treating men like a necessity, and you might not see it, but your boyfriend wants you to be independent too. It is always nice to have someone to rely on – that one special person who will wipe our tears or handle our drunken rants. However, one should not burden a person. Be independent and take care of yourself. You can always rely on him, but you have to learn to be on your own as well.
